Change the PATCHVER line to 

PATCHVER=4-vjs287.12

Or wait for the new version of the RRL patch that should be available
realsoonnow on Paul's web page.  It is intended for the recent
9.8.4-P1 and 9.9.2-P1 release and has with some small fixes and
improvements.
